40 Days of Prayer – Welcome

Introduction

Dear Readers,
From exploring the claims of Christ, to embracing the grace of Christ, to cooperating with God’s Spirit as He seeks to build in us the image of Christ…it is surely a journey. All of us who have walked the path have known unspeakable heights, unfathomable depths, and all of the steps of the faith adventure that connects those points. Along the way we continue to learn that God is true to His promise “I will never leave you or forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5, HCSB).
Regardless of where you find yourself on your spiritual journey, we commend you for setting aside a season to meditate your way through this 40-day devotional prayer guide focused on renewal and revitalization. Our prayer for you and for your church is the same prayer the Apostle Paul prayed for the believers in the church at Ephesus....
That God, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ and the all-glorious Father, will give you spiritual wisdom and the insight to know more of him: that you may receive that inner illumination of the spirit which will make you realize how great is the hope to which he is calling you—the magnificence and splendor of the inheritance promised to Christians—and how tremendous is the power available to us who believe in God.
That power is the same divine power which was demonstrated in Christ when he raised him from the dead and gave him the place of supreme honor in Heaven—
a place that is infinitely superior to any conceivable command, authority, power or control, and which carries with it a name far beyond any name that could ever be used in this world or the world to come. Ephesians 1:17-21 (JBPhillips)
As the staff of the Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware, we are committed to walk with you on this spiritual journey…a journey we pray awakens you and your church to more of what God has for you all!
As you read, pray, and meditate on the greatness of our Lord, let us know how we can assist you further in your journey.
We would like to express extraordinary gratitude to our friends on the Church Consulting & Revitalization Team of the Kentucky Baptist Convention for first developing this resource, then sharing it with our churches.
simply HIS,
Church Services Team | BCM/D
