Meet the Staff
Hello my name is Pastor Tim Robinson. My wife Alana and I have resided in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania our whole lives until God called us here to the eastern shore, May of 2011. We have an energetic 2 1/2 year old son named Timmy, who keeps us on our toes and humble. God has blessed us beyond our wildest dreams and has continued to allow us to experience such an amazing adventure with Him. It’s hard to describe.
I came to know Jesus in my 4 year old Sunday school class and have walked with Him ever since. I heard his call to full time ministry, June of 1998, on a mission’s trip. This special moment happened when I was leading 3 young people to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Ironically, it took place on a “beach” in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
God has placed big hearts inside both Alana and me for people. That compassion has been observed by others as well. Despite the wild reputation, I was noted for as a child, many of my Sunday school teachers spoke in faith that someday God would use my energy preaching and teaching the gospel. Thank God they were right and that my mother and father were so consistent in using the rod of correction to steer a whole lot of folly out of my system.
In October of 2010, I had the opportunity to partner with “SonRise” and “The Worship Center” with the purpose of building a church in the Galapagos Islands. What a great opportunity for evangelism and mission. Little did I know what was in store for me and how interesting the events would become. It is amazing what God has done in such a short amount of time. He has opened the door to become part of a wonderful move of God and I’m ecstatic to be here.
My message is simply this: Jesus Christ came to this earth 2000 years ago, lived a sinless life, but because of the sin of mankind, had to die on a cruel cross. Our Lord’s shed blood on the cross gives us forgiveness and direct access to the very presence of God. He didn’t remain in the grave, but rose victoriously over sin and death. Our victory and real life is now found in His resurrection. John 3: 30 says, “He must become greater. I must become less.” My prayer is that this passage will keep things in perspective for me, as I continue to lead others and strive to become closer to my Lord and Savior. The invitation is open to all of us. He calls us to this journey so tenderly and with open arms. He is a caring and compassionate God who does not treat us the way our sins deserve. (I know this from experience) His love is what holds this universe together.
My family and I look forward to sharing this next chapter and adventure with the SonRise Church family. May God continue to orchestrate and reveal His Sovereign will in and through our lives together. God bless you.
“May the Lord make His face to shine on you and give you peace.” Numbers 6: 25, 26.
